Custom Silver Jewelry FAQ - Material, MOQ, Lead Time, Shipping & Care
Below are the questions we answer most often at inquiry stage, grouped by topic. Each answer is the same one our sales team gives — nothing held back for the negotiation.

Material & Purity
Q1. Is it real pure silver, and how can you prove it?
Every piece is made from S925 — 92.5% silver (92.5% fine silver + 7.5% alloy, the internationally recognised sterling standard). We can provide an SGS test report on request. We do not use recycled scrap blends.
Q2. Will I be allergic to it?
925 silver is naturally low-irritation, and our plating layers do not contain nickel, which further lowers the reaction rate. If a customer has known sensitive skin, we recommend a rhodium-plated version as an extra barrier.
Q3. Will the gold plating fade?
Fading is a function of plating thickness and daily wear. Our standard total plating thickness is 0.1–0.3 μm, which includes the gold layer and the protective film layer (our standard, not an industry claim). We pair this with clear care guidance so the finish holds as long as possible.
Q4. Does silver turn black?
Tarnishing (oxidation) is a natural characteristic of silver — it is not a defect. Each parcel ships product-only in a standard OPP bag, with no extras included. To slow tarnishing, store pieces in a dry, sealed container of your own (a desiccant helps) and use a dedicated silver polishing cloth (available as an add-on accessory) to restore lustre. We can also apply rhodium plating or an anti-oxidation protective layer.
Q5. What material options do you offer?
925 silver natural colour, 925 silver + rhodium plating (white gold look, anti-oxidation and low-irritation), 925 silver + 18K gold plating (bright gold fashion pieces), and a brass + 925 silver combination (part of the piece in brass, part in silver, balancing cost and feel).
Pricing & MOQ

Q6. What is the MOQ?
From 25 pcs per style. Sample orders run 3–5 pcs per style, which lowers the barrier for a first validation order.
Q7. How is the unit price calculated — by weight or by piece?
By weight, with labour: (labour per gram + silver price per gram) × weight = unit price. Stones are quoted separately from the silver body.
Q8. What if the silver rate moves?
Silver price fluctuation is normal. We state the quote validity period and our price-lock policy up front: the order is re-priced at the international silver price on the day the deposit is paid.
Q9. Does the price include mold fee and packaging?
We itemise the quote so there is no ambiguity: silver material + mold/setup fee + hand-work. At or above MOQ we take a 30% deposit and charge no mold fee; below MOQ a mold/setup fee applies (from $30 per style), refundable in full once cumulative orders reach MOQ. Packaging: we supply OPP bags at no charge; special packaging is quoted separately.
Q10. Are there quantity price tiers?
Yes — 25–99 / 100–499 / 500–999 / 1000+ pcs, with a better unit price at each step. Tell us your target quantity and we will quote the matching tier.
Q11. If I order several styles, does that help the price?
Yes. Styles that share the same process route can spread the setup cost across the collection, which improves the overall pricing.
Customisation & Design
Q12. Can I order from my own drawing or sample?
Yes — we accept photos, hand drawings, physical samples and 3D files.
Q13. Can you engrave my logo or brand name?
Yes. We offer laser engraving (precise, fast, best for text and fine patterns), steel stamp (strong relief, suits brand marks) and hand engraving, with content and position defined by you — for example on a clasp or the back of a pendant.
Q14. Can I change the size or the stone colour?
Yes. Minor size adjustments are supported, and CZ colour is available in white / pink / blue / green and more.
Q15. Do I need a new mold, and how long does it take?
Styles already in our catalogue can often be produced without a new mold. A custom design needs one — we confirm the cost and the timeline with you before proceeding.
Q16. What surface finishes can I choose?
High polish, matte, brushed, sandblasted, antique/oxidised and hammered — and they can be combined on the same piece. Antique and hammered are partly hand-finished, so they carry higher labour cost.
Q17. Which stones and setting methods do you offer?
3A cubic zirconia (CZ) in white or coloured, rhinestones, imitation pearls, or no stone (plain silver). Settings: prong (4/6 claw), micro-pavé, channel, bezel, and glue setting for flat-back stones.
Q18. Who owns the copyright, and what about surplus stock?
Please make sure your design does not infringe any third party's IP — that is the buyer's responsibility for made-to-drawing orders. Bulk production generates a certain amount of surplus stock; we ask you to tell us whether you plan to reorder, and we store the surplus for an agreed period on your behalf. Beyond that storage period, we reserve the right to sell it. We confirm this in writing before production starts.
Lead Time
Q19. How long does sampling take?
Samples are produced within 7–15 days after the 3D drawing is confirmed. Before that, the 3D drawing itself takes 1–3 days.
Q20. How long does bulk production take?
25–40 days after sample confirmation, depending on quantity and craft complexity.
Q21. Can you rush an order?
Yes — rush scheduling can be arranged depending on the situation at the time. Please raise it early so we can slot it into the line.
Quality & Certification
Q22. Do you have test reports?
Yes — SGS certification reports, REACH, and ASTM F2999 (adult jewellery safety standard), provided according to your destination country's requirements.
Q23. How do you inspect before shipment?
A four-stage flow: incoming material inspection → in-process check (casting / setting) → finished-goods inspection → pre-shipment QC. We check gram weight, dimensions, stone positions and plating layer. Dimensions run to ±0.5 mm standard (±0.2 mm on precision pieces) and weight to ±5%, with silver cost settled on actual weighed weight.
Packaging & Shipping
Q24. What packaging do you use?
Standard packaging (OPP bag, no charge) or branded custom packaging (quoted separately). Packaging levels rise from OPP bag → velvet pouch → standard box → branded custom box. Hang tags, steel stamps, logo engraving and polishing cloths are add-on items.
Q25. How do you ship, and who pays the freight?
Under FOB / DAP / DDP terms as agreed; freight is borne by the customer unless your DDP quote states otherwise.
Q26. What export documents can you provide?
Commercial invoice, packing list, and certificate of origin (CO / FA). We can also help prepare documentation for destination-country customs clearance.
Q27. Which carriers, and how long in transit?
Generally DHL / FedEx / UPS, with transit of about 6–8 days depending on the destination country. Goods are dispatched from our Guangzhou warehouse; we do not operate overseas warehouses.
After-Sales

Q28. What if there is a problem after delivery?
We handle quality issues with replacement, rework or refund. Please note that damage from impact, natural oxidation, or stones changed by a third party is not covered. For transport damage or quality issues we also support offsetting the amount on your next order.
Q29. Is plating fading covered by warranty?
We distinguish between normal wear from daily use and genuine quality defects — defects are covered, and we provide the specific after-sales service that applies. Clear care guidance is supplied with every order to extend plating life.
Q30. How should the jewelry be cared for?
Five practical rules: daily wear — avoid perfume, cosmetics, sweat, pool water, sulphur soap and other chemicals; cleaning — a dedicated polishing cloth restores lustre, do not use toothpaste or other abrasives (polishing cloth available as an add-on); storage — keep each piece separated in a dry, sealed container of your own, a desiccant helps, avoiding pieces rubbing and scratching each other; plated pieces — avoid friction and chemicals to extend plating life; sports and bathing — take pieces off to reduce sweat and chemical exposure.
