How 925 Silver Custom Sampling Works at Hengdian Silver

Sep 9,2026

Sampling Comes First

At Hengdian Silver every 925 sterling silver piece is made to order, and the process starts with a sample rather than a full run. We produce a single sample so you can verify the design, proportions and stone setting before committing to the production order. A physical sample is the reference point for everything that follows.

What the Sample Includes

Each sample pairs a 3D design render delivered within 24 hours with a finished physical piece. You review the render for silhouette and layout, and the physical sample for finish, weight and setting quality. This two-part check keeps the production order aligned with what you approved — no surprises after tooling begins.

The Mold Fee, Refunded at Scale

A mold fee of $30 applies to set up the sample. That fee is refunded once your production order reaches 100 pieces, so sampling costs are recovered as the project scales. The threshold is fixed and confirmed up front, with no hidden steps between sample and production.

From Sample to Production

Once the sample is approved, it becomes the master for your production order. The same file, the same setting spec, the same finish — carried straight into manufacturing. For the full picture of how sampling fits our custom workflow, see our Custom & OEM process, or reach the team on the contact page.

Start Your Sample

Send your design, reference image or brief, and we return a 3D render within 24 hours plus a physical sample to confirm. It is the lowest-risk way to validate a new 925 silver style before the production order.

When Sampling Makes Sense — and When It Does Not

Sampling is essential for new personalized designs, unusual silhouettes, or any piece where stone layout and finish need buyer approval before tooling. For repeat orders of existing style-library designs, the approved master already exists, so a new sample is usually unnecessary unless you change the finish, stone, or dimensions. Treating the sample as a decision gate for new designs and a reference check for repeats keeps the process efficient and avoids unnecessary cost.

How to Prepare a Brief for a Faster Sample

The best sample briefs include a reference image or sketch, target dimensions, stone type and size, plating choice, and the intended selling market. That context lets the 3D render come back correct on the first pass and reduces the number of physical sample rounds. A clear brief also shortens the move from sample approval to production, because the same file and spec carry straight into tooling.
